isn’t there some sort of spray that you can buy? then you spray it on the wallpaper and they dont like it so they leave it alone. i think there is. . . check your local pet store

Some pet stores actually have a spray you can put on it. It won’t leave any marks or smell to us, but it will to them. Also they have these plug ins that release pheromones. These help to stop the scratching. You could also try getting a scratching post or a cardboard scratcher.

Put plastic on your walls or where they mostly scratch. When they see they can’t do damage to the wallpaper, they will eventually give up.

Buy them some toys and as scratch post and encoarage them to scratch that instead. To help them play with the toys instead put catnip inside or a yummy treat they like and seal it inside. They will smell it inside of there and try to take it out and will spend most of there time trieing to figure out how to get that yummy thing out of the toy.

There are pet repellents on the market, you can get it at any pet store, spray it on the wallpaper or any area you want to keep your pet away from and also use approval and disapproval words. That should do the trick in a week or so,

Buy them a scratching post. Cats like to stretch the whole lenght of their body when they scratch, so make sure it is a tall sturdy post. Maybe this is why they are choosing the wallpaper, because they can reach up the wall.
Cats need to scratch it is natural, it helps keep them sharp and also marks their scent.
Please do not consider de-clawing( if u are in USA). It is cruel. Cats need their claws. To a human it would be like having your fingers removed.
I have three cats we have a large scratching post and they do not touch the wallpaper or sofas.
    Hope this helps

You should spray the wallpaper with some spray they hate so they won’t come near it, maybe something strong that wont damage the wall that’s what i done with my cat.

You need to give your cat an alternative. They have cheap cardboard scratching boxes that come with catnip at the grocery store. They work great. I would put one close by the scene of the crime. Then there is also cat repellent, or bitter apple spray you can buy. It has a bitter taste/smell to keep them away from things. If you spray it on the wall and they scratch it then lick their paws, they’ll get a not so pleasant suprise. Hope this helps. Good luck with you kitties.

There are these things called soft claws , you can get them at pet stores and on the net, they glue on like fake nails and are awesome and pretty, they come in many different colors and even for holidays, I love them.
