You could create an accent wall behind your headboard with a wall size hawiian sunset mural and center your bed on the wall, then paint the walls an ocean color.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie… – 8X13ft – $44.99 free shipping
With your carpet color it will be like a sandy shore meeting up to the ocean.http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/5998…
Or if you go with painting the bottom of the wall a sandy color with an ocean color above, you could add a frothy white wave between the two like a hawiian beach and blend a blue sky above the ocean color.http://www.alternative-hawaii.com/activi…
When arranging your room it’s best to set up separate areas, place your desk by a far wall or corner, a mirrored vanity table with a chair on the other side of the room or set up a gaming area with tv, gaming unit, small table and low chairs or bean bags. Hang/place tropical decor in each area, spacing it out in a conservative way.

Seashells in a decorative or glass bowl, maybe add a candle in the middlehttp://images.doityourself.com/paid/HD69…http://www.fulcrumgallery.com/Ron-Jenkin…
    A bamboo or seagrass rughttp://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Cam… $44.99 – $2.95 shipping

Add a nice potted palm or for tropical flowers a bird of paradise planthttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31…http://www.donrobb.com/promo2/_images/tr…
If you have a Hobby Lobby store near you they have a large selection of inexpensive unique home decor.

I went for the “beach” look in my room, but instead of wallpaper or paint, I just went for the beach colors (tan, blue, green, etc.) On one wall, i layered aqua blue tissue paper and used modge podge like stuff to glue it down. It looks really cute and fun. You could also do a mural type thing, which looks super cool.
    Hope that helped!

Instead of wallpaper, try using the colors of the beach and decorate with white, beige, with light blue accents.
